The Claremont Colleges Library seeks a collaborative and learner-centered Arts & Humanities Librarian with subject responsibilities in Music, and Performing Arts (Dance and Theater) taught across The Claremont Colleges, a consortium of five undergraduate liberal arts colleges and two graduate universities. Other relevant subject areas may be assigned depending on the background and interests of the successful candidate, as well as the needs of the organization.
Reporting to the Director of Research, Teaching, and User Services, the incumbent will teach discipline-specific information and primary source literacy sessions (including digital and scholarly communication literacies); conduct strategic and targeted departmental outreach; provide general and specialized research consultations; and participate in collection development activities for both the general collection and Special Collections.
The Arts & Humanities Librarian will work closely with librarians in the Special Collections & Archives (SCA) division to contribute to instruction, outreach, and research services related to performing arts primary source and rare materials, physical and digital exhibitions, selection of new acquisitions, consult on donations/gifts, advise on metadata creation and digitization priorities, and oversee the Roland Jackson Music Research Fellowship program.
