The School of Information at RIT invites applications for a Lecturer position, beginning August 2022. The successful candidate will be able to teach a broad range of courses in relational and non-relational databases, database information requirements modeling, database application development, data warehousing, and related areas. In particular, we seek candidates who can demonstrate knowledge and experience in two or more of the following areas:
Successful candidates will have the ability to teach both undergraduate and graduate courses, engage students, and perform department service.

Department/College Description
The College:
Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences at RIT is one of the most comprehensive computing colleges in the nation. The college is housed in modern facilities in Rochester, NY, that include leading programs in computer science, game design and cybersecurity. As home to the country’s first undergraduate programs in software engineering and information technology, as well as the recently opened Global Cybersecurity Institute, Golisano College has long been a leader in computing education and research. Faculty, staff and students have access to specialized studios, labs, and equipment that are among the most complete and current of any university in the world. Moreover, Golisano College graduates go on to work at the world’s leading tech firms and have developed groundbreaking technology like the Kinect for Xbox 360 and game-changing innovations like jQuery. The college is home to the departments of Computer Science, Computing Security, and Software Engineering, as well as the School of Information, the School of Interactive Games & Media, and a college-wide PhD program, providing abundant opportunities for research collaboration within and beyond the college.
The Department:
The School of Information (the iSchool) is one of six administrative units within the College of Computing and Information Sciences; the School creates and applies knowledge in the field of information science, to bring together people, information, and technology. The iSchool oversees academic and curricula development for both undergraduate, and graduate students, pursuing degrees in three undergraduate BS programs, four graduate programs, and an advanced certificate program - including programs in computing and information technologies, human-computer interaction, data science and analytics, and web and mobile computing. The iSchool provides leadership, administrative, financial, and logistical support to more than 700 undergraduate and graduate students with 28 faculty and 7 staff in Rochester, and also provides support of the School's degrees at RIT's global campuses in Croatia, Kosovo, and UAE. The School is among the university leaders in terms of grant generation and publications, and faculty include winners of university awards for teaching and research, as well as professional leaders, including ACM SIG chairs. The School is also home to several labs and research centers, especially in the areas of human-computer interaction, accessibility, and data analytics. The School also plays a large research and delivery role in the university's Computing for All efforts, to foster greater inclusion in computing and information sciences.
