Veterinarian with advanced training in small animal soft tissue surgery
Board certification in the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) or European College of Veterinary Surgeons (ECVS), or completion of an approved residency of the ACVS or ECVS by August 1, 2022 is required. Preference will be given to those candidates board-certified by ACVS or enrolled in an approved residency of the ACVS. Documented clinical experience and competence in small animal soft tissue surgery is required. Expertise in surgical oncology and/or minimally invasive surgery are desirable. Demonstrated aptitude and experience in teaching, particularly clinical instruction, is required. Documented record of creative scholarship or potential to develop a clinical research program in small animal soft tissue surgery is required. Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work with others in a collegial team atmosphere. A valid license to practice veterinary medicine in California or a University license will be required before employment (California Business and Professions Code Section 4846-4857; California Business and Professions Code Section 4848.1) the acquisition of which will be facilitated by the School of Veterinary Medicine.
