The Department of Social Work at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke invites applications for one 9-month tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The Department of Social Work has both BSW and MSW degree programs and has received approval from the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) to begin an Online MSW Program. The department offers full-time and part-time BSW program, and MSW advanced standing and traditional programs.

Qualifications: Qualification requirements for the position include the following: (1) A Master of Social Work degree from a CSWE accredited institution; (2) A doctoral degree in social work or closely related field (doctoral students with ABD status will be considered if they are scheduled to complete their doctoral degree within 12 months of employment); (3) two years post MSW work experience. The following are not required but will be considered assets be faculty search committee: some college/university teaching experience; willingness and ability to teach online classes and willingness to teach evening class sections.

Expectations: The successful candidate will teach across the BSW and MSW programs (teaching responsibilities will include face-to-face and online classes, field seminar and supervision), provide academic advisement, and develop curriculum. The successful candidate will conduct research and scholarship, and provide services to the university, the department, and the community.
