Job Description

Our Adult Basic and Secondary Education (ABSE) Department of the College and Career Foundations Division is seeking to hire a skilled educator with a passion for teaching and content expertise in Basic Skills Development, GED Preparation, and College Preparation. The focus of teaching responsibilities will be in reading and writing.  The College and Career Foundations division works closely with departments and divisions across the college to promote access and inclusion that leads to the success for adult learners.

The Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Faculty Fellowship Program affirms the mutual goals of Lane Community College (LCC) and the Lane Community College Education Association (LCCEA) of social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion. The fellowship program seeks to promote the recruitment and retention of a diverse faculty at Lane Community College. The program does this by advancing the careers of individuals from groups in U.S. society that have been historically underrepresented in the academic profession. Among the College’s goals are increasing the racial and ethnic diversity of its faculty and broadening access to the college-teaching profession to qualified minority scholars. To help achieve these goals, Lane Community College sponsors an annual Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Faculty Fellowship program designed to bring two faculty members to the College each year. The faculty fellowship offers a one year temporary contract with the opportunity to transition to probationary and subsequently permanent faculty status over three years.

The ABSE department of the College and Career Foundations Division is committed to increasing the diversity and equity of the college community in multiple forms.

Lane Community College is an Affirmative Action / Equal Opportunity / Veteran / Disabled Employer embracing equity, inclusion and accessibility. We encourage a safe and hospitable environment for historically marginalized populations including women, BIPOC, Latinx, LGBTQ+ individuals, veterans, and candidates and employees living with disabilities.
