A full-time, 12-month, instructional faculty position in the Engineering Technology program specializing in Photonics (and Laser Materials Processing) is available beginning May 23, 2022.
The successful candidate will use a learner-centered approach to teaching that incorporates active learning strategies and techniques to enhance student learning. The successful candidate will also have a strong team and interpersonal skills. Primary duties include in-person classroom and online teaching; curriculum and course development; student academic advising; assessment of student learning; program promotion and student recruitment; and participation in college-wide initiatives. The successful candidate must possess strong interpersonal and technology skills, the ability to work in teams, and the flexibility to teach day or evening hours at the College’s locations in Springfield and Beavercreek. Additionally, the candidate must be able to work effectively in a diverse, multi-cultural environment.
Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position reports to the Dean in the School of Business and Applied Technologies located at the Springfield Leffel Lane main campus.

Salary: $60,000.00 Annually

A bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred) in Photonics, Engineering or a closely related field is required. Successful candidates will be familiar with key equipment and can link their education with practical applications, specifically in manufacturing (e.g., additive manufacturing, laser welding, laser marking, laser cutting). Collegiate/adult-level teaching and online teaching experience is also strongly preferred.
