Vice Chair of Equity, Inclusion, and Structural Change

The role of the Vice Chair of Equity, Inclusion, and Structural Change (VC EISC) is to collaborate to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion in the Department of Ob, Gyn & RS leading to a dynamic and inclusive environment that fulfills the missions of clinical care, service, research, education, and advocacy. The Vice Chair role is a collaborative dyad position comprised of one faculty member and one staff member, both members will have equal roles and comparable support. The Vice Chair is empowered to create recommendations for addressing and eliminating inequities in sexual and reproductive health across the lifespan, utilizing community-led and informed recommendations as a model. The VC EISC, in consultation with the Department Chair, is charged with:

  • Elevating a strategic vision for diversity, equity, and inclusion in the department of Ob, Gyn & RS;
  • Advancing health equity in our clinical services, in research, and in the communities we serve;
  • Building a culture and infrastructure that enables a data-driven approach for continuous improvement and accountability around DEI efforts;
  • Promoting boundary-spanning and collaborative partnerships and leveraging university resources, and
  • Supporting the recruitment, development, and retention of a diverse faculty, staff, and learner community, focusing on the promotion of a supportive and accountable climate.

The candidate will be a full-time faculty member of our department, specializing in Ob/Gyn and Reproductive Health through research or clinical endeavors.

Position Support & Resources
The faculty Vice Chair will receive, at a minimum, the below support. The specifics will be elucidated in discussion with the Department chair and will depend on the candidate and their vision:

  • 0.30 FTE protected time
  • Discretionary fund
  • Administrative Support

Preferred and Required Qualifications

Qualifications

  • MD, DO, PhD, or CNM
  • Experience and commitment to advancing diversity, inclusion, and health equity in reproductive health.
