The Assistant Director of Career Education is responsible for designing and delivering career and professional development content that prepares Otis College students for the world of work. This person will act as the lead counselor for advising students regarding career issues and strategies, job search methods, resume/portfolio preparation, internships, employment, and career related matters. The Assistant Director determines counseling needs tailored to the various majors and develops action plans accordingly. This position is the primary position who works closely with faculty chairs and professors to increase access to career education information in the classroom, preparing students for successful experiential learning opportunities outside of the university while ensuring that students can present their best professional selves at on-campus recruitment events such as Fashion Internship Fair, Intern Recruitment Day, and Annual Exhibition. Moreover, this position oversees the strategy and management of the office’s On-Campus Student Employees including budget allocation and management as well as overall supervision of the student staff. In addition, this position leads the strategy, design, implementation, and collection of departmental, divisional, and college wide student engagement and employment data.
