Job Description:

The Global Business and Transportation Department (GBAT) at SUNY Maritime College invites applications for a position as tenure track Assistant Professor with general background in information technology, management, and international business. This position requires prior college level teaching experience and a relevant PhD or DBA from an accredited university in international business or management. The appointment is a 10-month appointment, commencing in August of 2022, and requires a strong commitment to excellence in teaching on both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Responsibilities for this position include course preparation, teaching face to face and online, scholarship, student advising, and service to the department and college.

 

The GBAT Department offers both a Bachelor of Science degree in International Transportation and Trade and a Master's degree in International Transportation Management. We are seeking candidates with a strong background in information technology, general business and international business areas. Course expectations include teaching undergraduate courses in Introduction to Business, International Business, Transportation Systems and graduate courses in Information Management. We at GBAT value candidates who have industry experience as well.

 

The successful candidate will assist the department in facilitating collaborative research and program offerings and in growing both the undergraduate and graduate degree and certificate programs.

 

 

Preferred and Required Qualifications

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Relevant Ph.D. or D.B.A. from an accredited university
  • A minimum of three years of college level teaching experience
  • Documented evidence of recent scholarship and publications
  • Ability to teach face to face, and online courses
  • Applicants must be eligible to teach in the United States

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three or more years of relevant industry experience
  • Experience with course development and assessment
  • Knowledge of logistics, supply chain and marine business

Classification/Salary Range:  The Assistant Professor, Global Business and Transportation  is a tenure-track, academic year United University Professions (UUP) Position. The anticipated salary for the position is $55,000 - $65,000, with an outstanding benefits package.
