Job Description

Information Systems & Analytics: Assistant/Associate Teaching Professor or Assistant/Associate Lecturer (non tenure-track) position starting in the Fall semester of 2022 to teach, advise, and provide service to the department and university.

The role will do this by leading the Business Analytics Experiential Learning courses in the Bachelors and Masters of Business Analytics in the Farmer School of Business; effectively engaging with industry partners to solicit experiential projects; thoughtfully advising students as they tackle diverse, open-ended projects; develop a systematic corporate relations program for the Bachelors and Masters of Business Analytics programs; teaching additional classes in the Analytics programs as needed; participating in service activities within the Information Systems & Analytics Department and the university.

 

The Department of Information Systems & Analytics, with approximately 120 graduates per year, and approximately 25-30 faculty members made up of tenure/tenure track, visitors, and clinical faculty members. The department values high quality teaching and research. Preferred and Required Qualifications

Required: Candidates must have at least two years in applied Analytics and/or Data Science, with demonstrated experience in solving problems in business. For consideration for each position, applicants must have the following:

  • Assistant Lecturer candidates must have earned a master’s degree in Analytics, Statistics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering or a closely related field by date of appointment,
  • Associate Lecturer candidates must have earned a master’s degree and have substantial teaching or corporate experience in  Analytics, Statistics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering or a closely related field by date of appointment,
  • Assistant Teaching Professor must have earned a doctorate in Analytics, Statistics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering or a closely related field by date of appointment,
  • Associate Teaching Professor must have earned a doctorate and have substantial teaching or corporate engagement experience in Analytics, Statistics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related field by the time of appointment.

 

Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States on a fulltime and indefinite basis.

 

Consideration may be given to candidates with at least three years of experience collaborating on analytics problems with industry or government; experience engaging with clients from a variety of industries, organizations, and/or disciplines; experience teaching analytics problem-solving to students and/or colleagues; experience teaching professional skills (e.g. teamwork, project management, technical writing, reproducibility, coding, verbal and written communication) to students and/or colleagues.
