Full Time Faculty Special Education Position
(CA Campus- TBD)

Responsibilities of UMass Global full-time faculty include teaching, mentoring andservice. Research activities are supported, but not required. All faculty positions are non-tenure track, primarily hired at the rank of Assistant Professor, however, higher rank may be considered if appropriate.UMass Global offers competitive salaries with generous benefits. This full-time faculty is required to live in California.

Candidate must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and received the booster when applicable. Demonstrate proof of vaccination upon hire, unless approved for a disability or religious accommodation by the UMass Global's Human Resources Department. This will be considered on a case-by-case basis in accordance with applicable laws.


Responsibilities:

● Take an active role in maintenance and continuous improvement of existing programs/courses.
● Teach and develop on campus/online blended and fully online courses in the special education credential program and in the Master of Arts in Special Education (MASE) program.
● Advise, mentor, and direct master's candidates, credential candidates, adjunct faculty, and staff.
● Participate in Special Education, School of Education, and university meetings and committees.
● Participate in service to the education community within and outside of the university.

Our Education Specialist credential program graduates will serve as positive change agents while providing equitable and inclusive access and services within local, state, national, and global communities.
The Special Education credential programs at UMass Global include certifications in mild/moderate support needs, moderate/severe (extensive) support needs, and early childhood special education. We also offer the BCBA certification program, autism authorization, and a Master of Arts in Special Education program, with several emphasis areas.

Preferred and Required Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

● Doctorate in special education or related field.
● Five or more years of experience as a credentialed special education pre-K- transition teacher.
● Experience in teaching evidence-based best practices to address the academic, behavioral, and social emotional needs of students in partnership with teachers and parents, and related service providers.
● Experience engaging with a broad spectrum of educational professionals in a professional and collegial manner.
● Knowledge of and experience in justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion.
