Description/Job Summary

Baltimore City Community College is currently seeking an energetic, organized, and collaborative individual to serve as Academic Coordinator of the TRIO Student Support Services Program (TRIO SSSP). The Academic Coordinator will work closely with the Director of the TRIO SSSP to develop, plan, and implement high-quality services support services to increase the retention, graduation, and transfer success rates of 230 first-generation, low-income, and/or disabled students. The Academic Coordinator will collaborate with college departments and academic support services to coordinate tutorial support to meet the needs of TRIO SSSP participants.  Additionally, the Academic Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the Peer Mentor and Leadership Development initiative.

Preferred and Required Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in student personnel administration, higher education, education, psychology, or related field of study from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of student development theory and best practices for retention and student success in a college/university setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of academic, career, and advising principles and practices
  • Three to five year of demonstrated supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience working with Blumen, Banner or similar student database system.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff
