Position Summary
Responsible to carry out a variety of community engagement activities, outreach and recruitment while also managing special projects and addressing any emerging needs that may arise on a daily basic.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
The ability to plan, coordinate and lead events and activities and to identify and attract potential students to enroll in college programs and courses.  Experience in recruitment, outreach, planning events and managing projects is required.  Proactive problem solver who demonstrates initiative and teamwork.  A high degree of integrity in working with internal and external constituents.  Must be extremely organized, effectively multi-task, knowledge of negotiating with vendors and experience  in event planning. The ability to build solid relationships with organizational partners and community members to ensure a continuous collaborative affiliation among all parties.  The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.  Proactively identifies and prioritized key issues involved to facilitate the decision-making process for the organization.  Excellent project management skills, with the ability to develop plans, prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines for completion of project.  Strong customer services skills combined with a strong work ethic and goal-oriented.  Excellent communication and listening skills, the ability to be persuasive with strong professional writing and public speaking to a diverse community.  Strong customer service ethic and professionalism.

Physical Requirements
Requires ability to lift and carry moderately heavy materials weighing up to 20 pounds.

Minimum Knowledge and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or higher plus one (1) years’ experience in a multi-location environment related to outreach, recruitment and community engagement.  *** Will be subject to a criminal background check.  Some positions may be subject to a fingerprint check. ***

Preferred Skills:  Experience working with high school students and parents. Knowledge of college enrollment and financial aid preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for comprehensive event planning and facilitate events and activities designed to identify, attract and recruit potential students to enroll in college programs and/or courses.  Develop student outreach and community program schedules that support district goals and promotes student success.  Serves as a leader in team building, problem solving and the communication processes at various levels.  Manage various aspects of grants to include revisions, reconciliation and reporting as requested.  Adheres to policies and procedures governing purchases.  Initiate purchasing functions related to departmental needs and maintains record of departmental supplies and resources.  Establishes contact with community agencies and organizations to promote DCCCD and serve the educational needs of identified populations.  Collaborates with internal and external constituents on the development of events and activities.  Serve on numerous councils and committees.  Maintains overall departmental budget records including account reconciliation and transfers for different cost centers with the department.  Work collaboratively with district teams to develop campaigns and communications for students, develop promotional brochures and web content for product website.  Review departmental process and procedures and prepares recommendation to create new systems or revise established procedures.  Research and conceptualizes web-based material including visualization, layout, design and production.  May coordinate student outreach and recruitment efforts to promote online courses and programs. Independently compose and prepare correspondence and literature to internal and external partners.  Must have excellent listening, oral and written communications to communicate with a diverse array of stakeholders and constituents within the DCCCD community network.  Performs other duties as assigned.
