Job Description

Overview:

Cardinal Stritch University is currently seeking a qualified candidate for our Business Office department. The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for timely payments to vendors and maintenance of vendor accounts.  Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, processing purchase orders, communicating with vendors, monitoring University credit cards, issuing student refund checks, and monitoring outstanding checks.  

 

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain procedure manuals for all accounts payable and accounting related functions
  • Review and process all purchase orders and all invoices for payment
  • Receive invoices and route for approval
  • Enforce University policies and procedures as it relates to processing accounts payable transaction
  • Prepare accounts payable checks
  • Prepare student refund checks
  • Review requisitions and create purchase orders from approved requisitions
  • Maintain vendor records (name, address, W9)
  • Provide documentation to vendors (tax exempt, W9, credit applications)
  • Communicate with vendors via e-mail and phone
  • Process Forms 1099 MISC and 1099 NEC annually
  • Release testing and maintaining documentation
  • Other duties as assigned

  • None

 

 

Preferred and Required Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma required
  • Associate degree from a college or technical institute or a minimum of 2 years of related experience and /or training preferred
