The Faculty of Arts, Department of Psychology invites applications for an Instructor (4-year limited term) in the area of Social Psychology. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2022.
Teaching expertise in social psychology courses (e.g., intergroup relations, interpersonal relationships, psychology of gender, psychology of morality, and social influence & persuasion) is required. In addition, ability to teach in one or more ancillary areas (introductory psychology, research methods, statistics, human sexuality, or history of psychology) would be an asset. The teaching duties for this position consist of seven undergraduate courses distributed over 2-3 academic semesters. Mentorship of students and service to the department, faculty, and university is also expected. Service may involve the development of courses and involvement in department, campus, and university activities.
The preferred candidate will hold a PhD in Psychology with a background in social psychology. The incumbent will have a demonstrated commitment to undergraduate education at the university level and a record of pedagogical innovation and excellence in undergraduate teaching. University-level training or professional development in pedagogy would be considered an asset. Evidence of experience working with diverse groups and a commitment to supporting equity, diversity, inclusion, and social justice is required.
