Nebraska Wesleyan University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Costume Design for the Theatre Arts Program. The start date for this position will be August 2022.

This faculty member will play a primary role in coordinating and expanding NWU’s BFA Design and Technology program. Responsibilities in this position include teaching undergraduate design classes and fulfilling two costume design responsibilities each semester. Having a versatile range of design training, knowledge of design history and styles, and experience with current costume design technology is preferred. Teaching in NWU’s innovative Archway Curriculum is also anticipated.
The Professor will work closely with other Design Faculty, Technical Director, Costume Shop Manager, and Costume Library Manager as well as help facilitate communication with guest designers and mentor student designers. Designer has access to substantial Costume stock and extensive costume and props libraries. A strong commitment to participate in prospective student recruitment, academic advising, and community outreach is essential.
