Position Summary
Dallas College is seeking an experienced, highly collaborative leader with a proven track record of enhancing academic quality, leadership excellence, diversity, equity and inclusion, and student success in a dynamic higher education environment. The Event Planning Coordinator:
1. Coordinates faculty development events including event planning, design, and production of events
2. Communicates effectively with all stakeholders within all stages of the events
3. Leads event project teams across departments to reach event milestones on time
4. Organizes facilities and manage all event details such as décor, catering, equipment, promotional materials
5. Provides status reports to event stakeholders
6. Manages event promotion, registration, attendance, and post event evaluations

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Knowledge of the purpose of community colleges and the vision of Dallas College
• Experience in managing large events both in person and virtually
• Demonstrated ability to effectively lead short term project teams
• Highly collaborative leader who works well with various departments within Dallas College.
• Self-directed with excellent project management, organizational and problem-solving skills who can handle multiple priorities and complete tasks on time
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and appropriately in written and oral contexts with individuals and groups from varied backgrounds
• Knowledge of video conferencing software used for event meetings
• Demonstrated skills with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
• Experience with Microsoft SharePoint and Teams is a plus
• Demonstrated commitment to the promotion of diversity, equity, and inclusion

Physical Requirements
Normal physical job functions performed within a standard office environment.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to individuals with physical challenges to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.

Minimum Knowledge and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Three (3) years’ experience in higher education focused on faculty professional development
• Demonstrated successful experience in faculty professional development
• Current and valid Texas driver’s license required

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Work collaboratively with other leaders in the Center for Excellence in Teaching & Learning and additional departments to coordinate events supporting faculty development
• Manage multiple event projects at a time
• Develop event planning processes and procedures that ensure quality and consistency in the event planning process
• Organize facilities and manage all event details such as décor, catering, equipment, web conferencing, promotional materials
• Manage event promotion, registration, attendance, and post event evaluations
• Communicate effectively with a diverse population and prepare well-crafted written promotional materials
• Proactively troubleshoot event issues as they arise
• Serve on college task forces, committees and councils as required.
• Ability to research, collect and analyze data to make decisions.
• Other duties may be assigned to this position on a regular or occasional basis to respond to needs of the Institute.
