Job Description

The University Recruiter - Graduate, will report to the Associate Director of Strategic Enrollment Management. The University Recruiter engages in all phases of student recruitment and counseling activities, reviews admissions applications, assist with admissions application processing, represents the university at local and regional recruitment events, and coordinates special on and off-campus recruitment programs. There is 6-8 weeks of travel of travel between the fall and spring semester. The university anticipates that the university recruiter will assist in generating and processing student applications based on annual goals.

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships including outreach with external colleges, community colleges, and community organizations.
  • Recruitment of domestic, Canadian, and international students and the evaluation and follow through of applied students.
  • Serves as representative of college in recruitment affairs and activities, educating potential students on opportunities at D’Youville as well as on factors that lead to a strong application.
  • During a dedicated travel season of approximately 6-8 weeks, travels both locally and regionally within specified recruitment territory.
  • Work together with the Associate Director of Strategic Enrollment Management to collaborate with Marketing, Athletics, Alumni Relations and other departments to continue development of the D’Youville Brand.
  • Assists with admissions processing of application materials such as transcripts and other supplemental items to application completion and decision.
  • Answers all inquiries regarding admission standards, policies, programs, financial aid, and general information regarding the college.
  • Provides insight into scholarship resources and communicates the value of a D’Youville education in order to assist students in finding a good fit.
  • Reviews applications and determines the admissibility of students.
  • Maintains regular communication with prospective students and applicants.
  • Participates in recruitment travel and college fairs.
  • Coordinates on and off-campus recruitment events for prospective students ranging in size from personal appointments to larger open houses.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Associate Director of Strategic Enrollment Management and Vice President of Enrollment Management

Required Qualifications

  • Approximately 15 percent of annual worktime is dedicated to travel and may be adjusted based on the needs of the institution. Additional off-season travel may be required.
  • Possess strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience with student outreach, networking, and relationship building
  • Proficiency with current MS Office and social networking practices.
  • Able to represent and promote the college in a competitive environment.
  • Able to identify and recruit students who are desirable enrollees for the college
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Possess good interpersonal skills as well as a sincere interest in student well-being and success.
  • Engender self-motivation with appropriate energy level.
  • Committed to meeting all office goals and objectives as established by the Associate Director.
  • Exhibit initiative, resourcefulness, and problem-resolution skills.

Experience

  • Possess strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, staff and administrators.
  • Experience with admissions and enrollment CRM software.
  • Proficiency with current MS Office and social networking practices.
  • Able to represent and promote the college in a competitive environment.
  • Able to identify and recruit students who are desirable enrollees.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Possess good interpersonal skills as well as a sincere interest in student well-being and success.

Job Specifications

  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in Higher Education, Marketing, or Business preferred.
  • Minimum 1 to 3 years sales, strong customer service experience.
  • Three to five years previous experience in admissions recruitment and counseling preferred.

Physical & Environmental Requirements

  • Mental/Visual Demand and Physical Effort
  • For normal office environment must be able to lift 25 lbs from floor level.
  • Must be able to lift and maneuver normal size full file box for archival purposes.
  • Must be able to occasional bend, twist, and stoop.
  • Frequent typing of computer keyboard.
