The Faculty of Health and Life Sciences is passionate about the principles and application of science and technology in all its forms and strives to be excellent in research, teaching and innovation. One of five departments within the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, the Department of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation has particular strengths in health and wellbeing, the role of exercise and physical activity in the management of chronic health conditions, exercise recovery and neuromuscular adaptations, the optimisation of human performance an informing policy and practice within sport and health contexts. Working within the Department of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation, you will provide expertise in the area of Digital Marketing and Data Analytics, contributing primarily to our refreshed programmes in Sport Management (undergraduate) and International Sport Management (postgraduate). A background in sport is not required for this post, although the role holder will be willing to apply their expertise in sport and health business contexts. This role will include designing and delivering high quality teaching activities, undertaking individual and collaborative research to produce high quality, internationally recognised academic outputs, and participating in external activity to generate income (e.g. consultancy and/or short course development), and promote the subject.
Applicants should hold a first degree and be qualified (or exceptionally soon to be qualified) to doctoral level in a relevant subject, have expertise in the relevant subject area with specialist knowledge gained through research excellence. A proven ability to deliver high quality research informed teaching within an appropriate field and a strong research profile are essential for this role. Applicants with a strong industry background will also be considered.
