Title:  Assistant Professor (Electrical Engineering-Power Systems)

Department:  School of Electrical, Computer and Biomedical Engr-SIUC

College:  College of Engineering-SIUC

Months of Appointment:  9-month

 

Position Summary:  The School of Electrical, Computer, and Biomedical Engineering invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in the general area of power systems. This position is a 100%, continuing tenure track Assistant Professor position with a start date of August 16, 2022.

 

Housed within the College of Engineering, Computing, Technology, and Mathematics, the School of Electrical, Computer, and Biomedical Engineering has state-of-the-art teaching and research infrastructure in Power Systems. The specialization in Power and Energy in the Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering is very popular, and many students in the PhD and MS programs in Electrical and Computer Engineering specialize in power systems. Duties and Responsibilities:  Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in electrical engineering with emphasis in the general area of power systems.  Engage in an active program of research to include publishing in peer-reviewed journals, supervising doctoral and master's students, seeking and acquiring external funding for these efforts, and provide school/university service.

 

 

 

 

Preferred and Required Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:  Applicants must have a PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field.  ABD applicants will be considered if all requirements for the PhD will be completed by August 15, 2022.  If all requirements for the PhD are not completed by this date, a term, non-tenure track appointment may be offered in accordance with University policy (https://policies.siu.edu/personnel-policies/chapter2/ch2 -faps/conting.php).
