Clinical/Non-tenure Track Professor in Curriculum and Instruction/Early Childhood Education: The Department of Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Houston College of Education is seeking a Clinical Assistant (non-tenure track) professor in Early Childhood Education who will serve our undergraduate teacher preparation program as well as the M.Ed. program in Curriculum and Instruction.

Appointment: This is a 9 month appointment. Review of candidates will continue until the position is filled. The anticipated start date is August 2022. Preferred and Required Qualifications

Qualifications: Applicants for this position must hold a doctoral degree in Curriculum and Instruction / Early Childhood Education or in a related field with evidence of effective teaching ability, commitment to student success, and service to the profession. Applicants must also show evidence of having the knowledge and skills to prepare preservice teachers, including in the areas of early childhood education and instruction of English language learners. Candidates with early childhood teaching experience in U.S. K-12 settings will be given priority consideration.

Responsibilities: The successful candidate(s) will teach Early Childhood Education courses both for our undergraduate EC-6 and 4-8 pre-service teachers and our M.Ed. program in CUIN. Furthermore, the candidate will engage in research-based instructional practices linking university coursework to instructional practice with K-12 children in collaboration with the Department’s Early Childhood faculty. Active engagement with the Houston community and service to the Department, College, University, and the education profession are also expected.
