Assistant Professor - NeuroEngineering - Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences and Helen Wills Neuroscience Institute

The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences (EECS) and the Helen Wills Neuroscience Institute (HWNI) at the University of California, Berkeley (UCB) invite applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the non-tenured Assistant Professor level. The successful candidate will have joint appointments with EECS and HWNI.

We seek applicants interested in creating innovative and far-reaching solutions to important problems at the boundary of electrical engineering and neuroscience. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, implantable devices, computational devices, sensors, energy harvesters, nano-electronics, spectroscopy, imaging, brain-machine interfaces, as applied to cellular, systems, behavioral or cognitive neuroscience. All areas at the interface of electrical engineering and neuroscience are of interest and encouraged to apply. Applicants are sought whose research, teaching, and/or service experience have prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education.

Preferred and Required Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Ph.D. (or equivalent international degree), or enrolled in Ph.D. or equivalent international degree-granting program at the time of application.

Preferred qualifications

Candidate applications should demonstrate exceptional performance and plans for creating innovative and far-reaching solutions to important problems in neuroengineering. Candidates should show potential to make interdisciplinary research contributions to advance the state of neuroengineering research and education. All aspects of neuroengineering will be considered. Preference will be given to applicants whose research, teaching, or service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education.
