Job Description

Overview:

Cardinal Stritch University is currently seeking a qualified candidate for our Saint Clare Center department.

The Director of the Saint Clare Center seeks to advance the mission, reputation, and capacity of the Saint Clare Center by proactively building positive relationships with key external and internal constituents, including but not limited to: Archdiocesan offices and leadership; past and potential benefactors/patrons; and University personnel: administrators, Advancement, and business office. 

The individual shall lead in the strategic planning and activities aimed at sustaining the Saint Clare Center. The individual shall supervise and mentor the associate director of the Saint Clare Center.  This individual will be responsible for setting annual goals and operating an annual budget, which includes the key role of working with the Institutional Advancement and External Relations in fundraising as needed.

  • Work closely and collaboratively with key Archdiocesan offices and leaders in developing and operationalizing current and new programming.  For example:
    • Schools Office
    • Lay Ministry Office
    • Department of Catholic Social Responsibility
  • Work closely with the associate director of the Saint Clare Center ensuring that the annual goals of the Center are established and met
  • Build and manage the annual budget of the Saint Clare Center in collaboration with the Business Office
  • Provide consistent feedback to associate director and adjunct instructors within the Saint Clare Center on job performance
  • Coordinate with President and VP of Advancement on strategies and goals to meet the fundraising expectations each year for the Saint Clare Center, which includes managing existing donor relations and cultivate new patrons and support for the Center
  • Represent the Saint Clare Center in the internal and external community
  • Establish and maintain an Advisory Council consisting of internal and external constituents and stakeholders
  • Coordinate regular meetings (2-3x per year) with a clear agenda and goals
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Associate Director of the Saint Clare Center
  • All adjunct instructors in the program delivery

 

 

Preferred and Required Qualifications

 

Qualifications:

  • The individual shall have a Master’s Degree (minimum) or Ph.D. (preferred) in religious studies, education, communications, or related field. 
  • Bilingual ability (Spanish/English) both verbal and written preferred.
  • The individual shall have administrative/leadership experience with proven success in Catholic higher education and/or institutions.  The individual shall have demonstrated knowledge of Catholic theology and Catholic Church structures, identity, and values. Also required is a commitment to Catholic higher education in the Franciscan tradition.  
  • The individual shall value a multi-cultural educational setting that promotes unity, access, and quality.
