Job Title Welcome Center Student Ambassador-Student Employee Department Student Retention & Conduct Employee Type Part Time Hourly Rate $11.00 Federal Work Study or Institutional Work Study Academic Term Fall Anticipated Schedule Hours will be determined upon the need of the department and the student employee's class schedule. 

Work Week 0-20 Hours Work Week-Other Information Application Review Begins Special Instructions to Applicants Position Introduction This student employment position is within our Welcome Center.  Student Employment at MCC requires the following:

  • Background Check
  • Completion of New Employee Training
  • Must be currently enrolled in at least 3 credit hours for Fall/Spring semester
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above - if this is your first semester at MCC, the GPA requirement is waived
  • If you qualify for Federal Work Study, you will be hired as a Federal Work Study employee to utilize these funds

Position Summary Provides assistance in the Welcome Center. Reports to Director of Student Retention and Conduct Essential Functions and Responsibilities · Exceptional communication, interpersonal, reception and telephone skills
· Excellent customer service and public relations skills
· Possess soft skills such as positivity, empathy, clarity, conflict resolution 
· Ability to create positive first impressions
· Assist with large scale calling campaigns  Required Education High School graduate or equivalent Other Required Qualifications Desired Qualifications Skills and Specifications

  • Excellent English communication skills
  • Position requires frequent bending, stretching and lifting
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to sit, walk and stand up to 4 hours
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Products
  • Ability to use office equipment (fax, copier, etc)
  • Good organizational skills and ability to multi-task
