Job Title Groundskeeper Department Facilities Management FLSA Status Non-Exempt Job Type Staff Position Grade 6 Employee Type Full Time Hiring Range Commensurate with experience Grant Funded No Work Year 12 Months Work Year-Other Information Typical Work Schedule  40 Hours - Typical schedule, Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.  Flexible schedule to meet department needs to include possible evenings and weekends  Bargaining Unit Eligibility Yes-Staff Council Work Week 40 Hours Work Week-Other Information Flexible schedule to meet department needs to include possible evenings and weekend. Special Instructions to Applicants Position Introduction N/A Position Summary Assist with the maintenance and development of all campus grounds, equipment, and supplies. Reports to Assistant Vice President Facilities Management Essential Functions and Responsibilities · Perform 
o Mowing, weeding, spraying, fertilizing, pruning, planting and watering of grounds 
o Keeping the parking lots and fields clear of litter and other debris 
o Snow removal 
o Athletic field maintenance 
o General grounds repair work 
o Assist with landscape installations 
· Maintenance of grounds equipment 
· Assist with inventory of grounds supplies/equipment 
· Minor maintenance repairs on grounds equipment and machinery 
· Interior and exterior painting 
· Provide for fleet vehicle service, inspections, repairs, cleaning, and fueling 
· Work collaboratively with others (e.g. colleagues, stakeholders, vendors) to accomplish functions and responsibilities 
· Assume additional duties as assigned by immediate supervisor Required Education High School Graduate or equivalent plus specialized training Other Required Qualifications -       High School diploma, plus additional specialized training-       Valid state driver's license-       Two or more years' experience in related field Desired Qualifications None Skills and Specifications · Ability to learn technological applications 
· Ability to safely operate and maintain grounds equipment 
· Background in horticulture or agriculture 
· Responsible and dependable 
· Organizational skills and self-directed with the ability to work with others 
· Ability to safely lift up to 60 pounds unassisted 
· Ability to see, smell, perceive color, depth, and texture 
· Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving 
 the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials 
· Trustworthy, thorough and committed 
· Ability to read and comprehend manuals 
· Commitment and respect for diversity
