Job Summary
The Assistant Golf Professional will assist with the management of daily golf operations including managing and tracking play, protecting and controlling assets, supervising golf staff, assisting with all merchandising functions, managing tournaments, teaching lessons, and providing other professional services to ensure an exceptional golf experience.


  • Perform related duties as assigned to support the mission of the University
  • Provide golf instruction and clinics that are consistent with instructional methods, policies and procedures with no additional compensation for these services
  • Supervise, schedule and train golf shop, outside services and F&B personnel as directed by the Head Professional/Director of Golf
  • Assist in the purchasing, receipt, display, inventory, control, promotion and sales of merchandise
  • Manage the club repair business
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner and maintain a professional image at all times
  • Be informed on, and promote all club activities and services
  • Manage the handicap program
  • Assist in planning and budgeting for the golf operations
  • Assist in managing tournaments and outings
  • Assist in the publication of newsletters, informational and promotional materials
  • Complete the requirements of PGA membership and maintain an active classification in The PGA of America
  • Supervise and manage the total golf operations in a professional and efficient manner in the absence of the Head Golf Professional/Director of Golf
  • Provide excellent customer services, professional advice and assistance to all patrons
  • Control and manage play; ensure guest check-in and fee collection in coordination with the starter
  • Enforce all rules and regulations governing golf course usage
  • Oversee the reservation system, starting, and monitoring of play
  • Assist in the marketing and promotion of new Players' Pass / play
  • Manage the total operation of the practice facility

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Required Experience

  • Two (2) or more years related experience

Other Required Qualifications

  • PGA Associate Membership

Preferred Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in marketing and promotion
  • Competitive golf playing experience
  • Experience in retail business
  • Experience utilizing current technology in the instruction of golf

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • PGA Class A Membership

Proposed Salary
$36,500 - $45,000

  • Fundamental supervisory practices and principles
