The Outreach/Student Services Specialist is a full-time, Professional/Managerial position. The individual holding this position performs a broad range of outreach and marketing duties in support of the Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) grant and related services. In addition, this position will provide direct pre-college advisement to EOC clients, including admissions, financial aid, academic, and career guidance. This individual has considerable latitude for exercising judgment and discretion in performing those duties. The position reports to the Director of the Educational Opportunity Center. Grant Funded Position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, education or related field and two (2) years of work experience in a program with similar outreach/marketing and/or student service goals and duties. Knowledge of the Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) program service area – i.e., Escambia and Santa Rosa counties. Strong written and verbal communication and editing skills; ability to work independently and within a team; and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of programs. Successful results of a criminal background check are required.
Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations. Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment, and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment.
SALARY RANGE: $33,730.00 - $40,000.00
