The University of Pittsburgh Physicians of the University of Pittsburgh is seeking applications for a position in the Division of Minimally Invasive Bariatric and General Surgery at the rank of Assistant Professor, appointment stream. The successful candidate will be a General Surgeon who has completed a fellowship in Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgery, to support the growth and goals of an academic surgical program. We seek an outstanding candidate who has a demonstrated track record of clinical excellence as well as early / initial academic productivity. The clinical emphasis of the position will include both advanced and minimally invasive bariatric surgery as well as elective and acute care general surgery.
Minimum requirements include being Board Eligible or Board Certified in General Surgery and completion of a fellowship in Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgery, with eligibility for licensure in Pennsylvania. Candidates should possess a strong commitment to teaching; strong clinical, interpersonal, analytical, and leadership skills, and evidence of interest in and involvement in clinical research and/or quality improvement activity.
