The Faculty of Agricultural Sciences invites applications for the position of a

 Full Professor (W3) of Production Systems of Horticultural Crops

 at the Institute of Crop Science to be filled as soon as possible.


The appointee (m/f/d) should make a significant contribution to the sustainable development of production processes in the area of “agricultural holdings with special crops.”

 The professorship should concentrate on fruit growing, but may also focus on other specialty crops (vegetable growing, viticulture, spice and medicinal plant cultivation).

 Top level basic research with a strong link to applied research is expected e. g. in the fields of effects of climate change, the decrease in biodiversity, and/or innovative, sustainable production systems.

 A cooperation with the Kompetenzzentrum Obstbau Bodensee (KOB) in Bavendorf is desirable.

 The successful candidate will be expected to play an integrative role within the Institute of Crop Science.

 The applicant should be able to independently teach in German and in English in both the basic modules of the Bachelor's degree programs and in more in-depth and specialized modules of the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs.

 The position offers attractive conditions for first-time full professor appointees. Prerequisites for applicants are habilitation or an equivalent research and teaching record which may have been established during a Junior or Assistant Professorship.
