The Department of Educational Studies [www.edst.purdue.edu] at Purdue University in West Lafayette invites applications for a full-time, academic year (10-month) clinical faculty position in its APA-accredited Counseling Psychology Program beginning August 2022. We are seeking applicants who can contribute to our college mission of effecting positive change in a diverse society in the areas of discovery, teaching, and engagement. In addition to teaching responsibilities, this position includes the administrative titles/responsibilities of Director of the Purdue Counseling and Guidance Center (PCGC) and Director of the Certificate Program in Collaborative Leadership: https://www.education.purdue.edu/undergraduate-students/collaborative-leadership-certificate/. The undergraduate Certificate in Collaborative Leadership (CCL) consists of 3 courses, taught primarily by our graduate students under faculty supervision. Two of the three courses are also part of the university core curriculum.

Responsibilities include administration of the clinic’s day-to-day functions and supervision of the student director of the PCGC, who is an advanced doctoral student in the program. The areas of specialization and theoretical orientation are open, but the applicant should demonstrate a commitment to effective delivery of counseling services to diverse constituents and to the values consistent with that of the program, including a social justice and multicultural focus, a strengths-based developmental perspective, and a scientist-practitioner model of training.
Preference will be given to individuals with leadership and supervisory experience in a clinical setting. Clinical faculty are full members of the faculty and are expected to demonstrate excellence in the areas of clinical practice/application, service/engagement, and clinical/classroom education.
