Scope of Position:

The Ed.D. Doctoral Program in Educational Leadership (EDL) at D’Youville seeks applicants for a tenure track Assistant Professor position to start in Fall 2022. EDL is a dynamic program, with a foundational and spirited commitment to social justice. We prepare exemplary leaders who go on to democratize education across the K22 continuum. Strong collaborations with school districts and professional associations anchor what we do. Located on the vibrant, diverse West Side of Buffalo NY, D'Youville is an innovative, private, coeducational institution serving 3,000 undergraduate and graduate students.

Founded in 1908, D'Youville was the first college in Western New York to offer baccalaureate degree programs for women. Honoring its Catholic heritage and longstanding commitment to service, D'Youville welcomes those from every culture, faith, and background. Buffalo, the second largest city in New York, is home to world renowned cultural attractions, two major and minor league professional sports teams, and year-round outdoor activities. D'Youville is near Lake Erie, Niagara Falls, and Toronto.

Essential Functions:

EDL seeks candidates with a practitioner-researcher background with dissertation experience to teach applied, methodological, and core courses to K22 doctoral students. Classes are hybrid, and proficiency with technology is required. The successful applicant is expected to contribute to department duties and devise and implement creative, successful initiatives to increase enrollment. They will also represent EDL in program and campus-wide committees and events. Individuals must strongly evidence the ability to build an applied research profile that contributes to the scholarship, and the capacity to involve students in this work.

Candidates must be problem solvers, forward thinking, and embrace change. Competency in curriculum design, instructional strategies, community engagement, grant writing and budget maintenance is preferred.
