The Department of Pediatrics is seeking a Research Associate I. This position will be responsible for clinic-based research study recruitment in all UI Health sites for Department of Pediatrics research projects/philanthropy.


  • Build relationships with referring providers to research studies and utilize EPIC to help providers identify potentially eligible participants.
  • Recruit, consent, and enroll participants to departmental research studies.
  • Hire, coordinate, train, and supervise volunteer student in-person recruitment.
  • Ensure that all IRB and Covid-safety protocol are being followed by students.
  • Data checking of records in RedCap and assist data management team with supervisory tasks.
  • Coordinate Department of Pediatrics elements for philanthropy activities including Friends of UIC Pediatrics meetings, public events, and alumni events; position will collaborate with COM Director of Development.
  • Other related duties as assigned.


Preferred and Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in social science or related field required.
  • Knowledge of fundamental research concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Entry level knowledge of research methods.
