The Title III Student Service Advisor is a Professional/ Managerial position who provides admissions, financial aid, academic, and career guidance to students. Supports prospective and new students through the college admission process, including orientation requirements, residency requirements, transcript requests, testing requirements, financial aid applications, veteran services, and selecting programs of study. Possesses knowledge of academic policies, procedures, and degree requirements and advises students on meeting those requirements. Works closely with other departments on retention and completion strategies. Possesses an understanding of FERPA rules for the release of student information to faculty, parents, and students. Uses admissions tools, including admissions checklists, information packets, residency documents, student records system strategies, and online application processes. Assists all student populations with admissions processes including discussion and research of residency law and guidelines, collaborating with the Coordinator of Admissions on the review of transcripts for the determination of testing requirements. Counsels students and parents regarding the application processes required to gain access to available federal, state, institutional, and scholarship aid, and active duty military and veteran education benefits. Reviews and interprets placement and other standardized test scores, unofficial transcripts, and course prerequisites. This position reports to the Director of Advising, Pensacola Campus. This is a Grant Funded Position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from a regionally accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree. Successful results of a criminal background check are required.
Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations. Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment, and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment.
ANNUAL SALARY: $33,730.00
