Job Summary
Maintain up-to-date knowledge on resources available in the community and serve as liaison between Georgia Southern Counseling Center and community mental health and social services. Provide bridge care to facilitate the referral of Georgia Southern students to community resources, including in-patient hospitals. Provide direct clinical services to students, outreach programming and professional training to the Georgia Southern community on a variety of mental health issues, clinical training to practicum students and interns as needed, and consultations to faculty and staff regarding college student mental health. Participate in the on-call schedule on rotation with all clinical staff.

Responsibilities
  • Perform related duties as assigned to support the mission of the University
  • Provide outreach programming and consultations to campus community
  • Maintain ethical, legal, and professional standards of practice for Professional Counselors or Social Workers n the State of Georgia
  • Coordinate one or more areas of Counseling Center service
  • Maintain compliance with Counseling Center policies and procedures
  • Maintain up-to-date mental health and social services resource list
  • Maintain working liaison relationships with campus, local and regional referral resources
  • Provide case management/bridge care for clients being referred to community resources
  • Coordinate with inpatient mental health facilities on discharge planning for patients who are Georgia Southern students
  • Compile and draft responses to all requests for Counseling Center client records/ verification of treatment, to be signed by Executive Director or Director on Armstrong Campus
  • Provide individual, couples, and group therapy to Georgia Southern students
  • Provide crisis/triage assessment and response to students
  • Participate in various training programs housed within the Counseling Center

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
  • Master's degree in clinical/counseling psychology or social work

Other Required Qualifications
  • Licensed as an LPC or LCSW in the State of Georgia, or ability to obtain relevant Associate License (LAPC/ LMSW) within three (3) months of start date and full license within three (3) years of start date

Preferred Qualifications
Additional Preferred Qualifications
  • Full licensure as LPC or LCSW will be given preference

Preferred Experience
  • Experience working in a university counseling center
  • Experience with public speaking
  • Experience providing case management services

Proposed Salary
$44,400 - $50,000

  • Understanding of procedures and willingness to follow University policies to meet institutional goals
  • Knowledge of clinical theories, diagnoses, interventions, treatment planning and therapeutic outcomes
  • Understanding of social, developmental, and psychological issues and challenges faced by students in higher education

SKILLS
  • Demonstrate commitment to inclusiveness by working well with diverse populations
  • Proven proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office, Google, and/or applications as required for specific position
  • Effective communication (verbal and written)/public speaking, organizational and human relations skills
  • Effective clinical and therapeutic skills to foster positive therapeutic relationships with students
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equity
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills
