The Department is seeking a well-established scholar who will contribute to the continuous development and enhancement of the Department in social work research and education. More specifically, our ideal candidate is expected to:

a)         Have a clear vision of and be dedicated to quality social work research, education and professional training;

b)         Have a strong record of scientific research and publications in social work or social administration;

c)         Be experienced in capacity building in an academic department of social work;

d)         Be dedicated to social work education and professional training;

e)         Be committed to nurturing and mentoring future thought leaders in the department, discipline and profession;

f)          Possess transformational leadership and excellent communication skills;

g)         Be enthusiastic and experienced in fostering transdisciplinary, cross-disciplinary, and international collaborations;

h)         Meet the requirements of social worker registration in Hong Kong; and

i)          Understand the culture of Hong Kong and China

Appointment will be made at full professor rank commencing August 2022, normally on contract basis for up to three years initially, which, subject to performance and mutual agreement, may lead to longer-term appointment or substantiation. Candidates with proven international and academic standing and leadership as well as outstanding record of research and scholarship can be considered for substantive appointment right away. The University offers competitive salary and fringe benefits, which will be commensurate with the appointee's qualifications and experience.
