POSITION: Art Appreciation Instructor
CLASSIFICATION: Faculty - Adjunct
WORK YEAR: Fall 2021
REPORTS TO: Division Dean - Daniela Broderick

Position Summary

Teach the assigned class in accordance with the learning objectives and e-syllabus using instructional
strategies to engage students
· Develop and manage working syllabus, course materials, and assignments
· Provide formative feedback and summative evaluation of student performance throughout the learning
process which could involve being available for student conferences either before or after class, and by
College email if necessary
· Maintain and submit class syllabus, grades and attendance records, and required course related data
· Use educational technology (i.e. course management platform such as Canvas)
· Assess student learning and submit required reports of assessment results
· Maintain currency in professional field
· Work cooperatively within the department, the division, and throughout the College in striving for educational

Essential Responsibilities

Teach Art Appreciation, M, W, F: 7:45am-8:35am or M, W, F: 8:45am-9:35am

Required Qualifications

Master of Arts or Master of Fine Arts degrees (preferred), or Master of Arts in Education degree (Higher Education emphasis) with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Art.

Other Required Qualifications

· Course specific minimum qualifications are approved annually by the Board of Trustees and are available in
all Academic Division Offices. General minimum qualifications include:
o Baccalaureate classes: a completed master's degree and 18 graduate credit hours in the
o Career and Technical Education classes: 2,000 or more hours work experience in the discipline
and a bachelor's or other required degree or industry-related certification or licensure.
· Demonstrated teaching experience is preferred
· Commitment to the mission of the community college, and to teaching and motivating community college
students in ways appropriate to their diverse backgrounds
· Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
