Job Title Hydroponic System and Student Farm Assistant-Student Employee Department Horticulture Employee Type Part Time Hourly Rate $11.00 Federal Work Study or Institutional Work Study Academic Term Academic Year Anticipated Schedule Hours will be determined upon the need of the department and the student employee's class schedule. 
Monday-9:00am to 3:00pm
Tuesday-9:00am to 3:00pm
Wednesday-9:00am to 3:00pm
Thursday-9:00am to 3:00pm
Friday-9:00am to 3:00pm Work Week 0-20 Hours Work Week-Other Information Application Review Begins Special Instructions to Applicants Position Introduction This student employment position is within our Horticulture department  Student Employment at MCC requires the following:

  • Background Check
  • Completion of New Employee Training
  • Must be currently enrolled in at least 3 credit hours for Fall/Spring semester
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above - if this is your first semester at MCC, the GPA requirement is waived
  • If you qualify for Federal Work Study, you will be hired as a Federal Work Study employee to utilize these funds

Position Summary Provides assistance in the hydroponic system in the greenhouse and help in the student farm.  Reports to Dean of Career and Technical Education Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Plant, harvest, clean, and process crops for

 

the hydroponic systems and student farm.!

  • Maintain crops by weeding, pruning, and

training.

  • Clean and organize components for the

hydroponic systems. Required Education High School graduate or equivalent Other Required Qualifications Desired Qualifications Skills and Specifications

  • Position requires frequent bending, stretching and lifting
  • Ability to sit, walk and stand up to 4 hours
