The California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP) is seeking to hire a part-time (.5 FTE) Core Faculty member with both academic and clinical experience for a small, highly innovative, Clinical PhD Psychology program. This part-time position is distance remote learning, so candidates are not required to relocate to the Fresno campus. These positions have associated academic responsibilities and may include some administrative responsibilities.
CSPP's mission is to provide the highest quality education, training, research and service in professional psychology and related human service fields. We strive to improve the quality of life by fostering respect for human diversity in a multicultural and international society and by combating discrimination in all its forms. We seek to redefine excellence in scholarship via models of applied clinical research that provide a solid framework to understand and address problems of contemporary life. We exhibit the highest professional and ethical standards while addressing the needs of individuals and organizations and service to the underserved.
The Fresno program has been continuously accredited by the American Psychological Association since 1984. The program was one of the first CSPP program to be successful in being awarded a 10-year accreditation under the new Standards of Accreditation in 2017. Based on the scholar-practitioner model, CSPP's emphasis provides the University's students with high quality clinical competence, applied research training, and teaching skills for higher education.
The Fresno program has a highly motivated and productive faculty. The program has long-term projects that have addressed significant community mental health issues and offers new faculty extensive possibilities for research with statutory county agencies. The program has long-standing collaborative partnerships with local hospitals, statutory agencies, not-for-profit organizations, as well as health clinics; so the opportunity for community based interventions is great. The program is interested in all areas of clinical psychology including clinical forensic, child and family systems, health and integrated health, neuropsychology, clinical assessment, multicultural and international psychology. The program is particularly keen that applicants for the position have demonstrated involvement in research in their area of interest, and/or other specializations that would broaden the richness of training for our students. The program is deeply engaged in supporting the diverse multicultural communities of Central California, and the new faculty member will be expected to provide institutional visibility and commitment to serving the mental health needs of and advocacy for underserved populations.
