The Department of Biology (www.baylor.edu/biology) in the College of Arts & Sciences (www.baylor.edu/artsandsciences) seeks an outstanding scientist who will establish a research program focused on freshwater ecosystems. Applicants should use molecular approaches and ideally utilize (meta)genomic or (meta)transcriptomic techniques.

This position is a 10-month academic year appointment that includes a competitive salary and start-up package. Summer salary for this tenure-track appointment is expected to be paid from grants. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.

 

Preferred and Required Qualifications

Applicants should possess the doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent). The successful candidate will develop a vibrant, independent, and externally-funded research program with a record of refereed publications in high quality journals; contribute strongly to research; collaborate with faculty across the University; mentor and support graduate students; integrate undergraduates into research; and teach at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. Service to the University, community, and profession is expected. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the Center for Reservoir and Aquatic Systems Research (http://www.baylor.edu/CRASR) and to university-wide initiatives in Global Health Biology.
