This non-tenure track position at the rank of Lecturer I of Digital Media Arts within the School of Architecture will teach courses, hold office hours, grade papers and mentoring students.


  • Teach full-time in Digital Media Arts Program including Digital Media Arts studio courses and core curriculum classes as needed.
  • Assists the Director of Art and the Digital Media Arts Coordinator with annual program assessment, curriculum review and development, student advisement and retention activities.
  • Post and maintain regular office hours, assist students in day-to-day needs, responds to student's emails/voicemails in a timely manner, accurately assess student performance, file grades and submit attendance reporting in a timely manner.
  • Adheres to the University standards in teaching, research/creative work and service, participates in all required University functions.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Master's of Fine Arts or equivalent recognized terminal degree in Graphic Design, Digital Media Arts or related field.
  • Two (2) years of experience teaching at the college level

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Understand the mission of Prairie View A&M University and be sensitive to the issues related to teaching a diverse student body.
  • Ability to teach foundational courses in Digital Media Arts covering an array of subjects including Design I (2D), Design II (3D), color theory, digital imaging, interactive media, creative thinking, and graphic design history.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud Products, knowledgeable of interactive and 3D modeling software.
  • Proficiency in using technologies to develop and build course content and to perform classroom and administrative duties.
