Tutor and Senior Tutor vacancies - London Moorgate, London Bloomsbury campuses and ULaw Online (the University's dedicated online campus)
The University of Law (ULaw) is one of the UK's longest-established specialist providers of legal education. With an alumni network in excess of 71,000, we've trained more practising lawyers in the UK than anyone else.
We were the first-ever independent institution to be granted degree awarding powers and in 2012 we gained university title. With a rich heritage and a reputation for innovation and contemporary teaching practices, we continuously focus on developing the best legal and business minds. In 2016, we opened our leading Business School, further enhancing our reputation as a full service legal, business and educational training specialist, operating from 15 locations in 13 cities across the UK, online and international campuses in Berlin and Hong Kong.
What really sets us apart from other universities is the guiding principle that future lawyers and business leaders should learn in a realistic, professional and contemporary context, with plenty of practical interactive engagement.
That's why we keep our contact hours high and our teaching groups small.
We have an impressive record of student success and satisfaction:
As our student numbers increase and we continue to diversify our programmes and portfolio, we are also looking to recruit high-calibre Tutors and Senior Tutors to join our teaching teams in the following campuses: London Moorgate, London Bloomsbury campuses and ULaw Online (the University's dedicated online campus).
We are looking for qualified solicitors or barristers with a genuine passion for quality and excellence, who can demonstrate successful legal practice experience. You will enjoy being challenged (by students and course content in equal measure) and be able to adapt to the different learning styles of students and methods of course delivery. You will be eager to share your expertise and become involved in all aspects of enhancing the student experience, primarily teaching on our LPC, GDL, BPC and LLB programmes.
Due to the variety of courses and numbers of students, tutors are expected to be present on campus during their usual working hours, although occasional flexible working may be possible. Classes and extra-curricular events are also routinely delivered over weekends and evenings and tutors are expected to work flexibly within these parameters.
We offer an excellent range of competitive benefits including a generous annual leave allowance, private medical scheme, contributory pension scheme, life assurance, training and qualifications, and travel loans. As part of the tutor development programme, we will also support you to study for a recognised teaching qualification within your first 18 months of employment.
Please note, CVs will not be considered and only application forms are accepted for this role.
No agencies please.
Some posts within the University are subject to a DBS check - you will be notified of this during the application process.
As an equal opportunities employer, we welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons. However, as Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic individuals are currently under-represented within the University - which does not reflect our diverse student body. We would particularly welcome applications from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic candidates. All appointments will be made on merit.
