Minimally Invasive Bariatric and General Surgery

Research Instructor

The Department of Surgery, Division of Minimally Invasive Bariatric and General Surgery (MIBGS) at the University of Pittsburgh seeks applicants for a full time Research Instructor, appointment stream. 

The successful candidate will collaborate with fellow MIBGS investigators by providing technical and statistical expertise, conducting longitudinal data analysis and literature reviews, preparing and submitting documents for publication, aiding in study design and grant proposals, and participating in other division projects as needed. The candidate will have the opportunity to lead and author studies within the research group as interest and skills allow. Development of independent research topics and grants is encouraged.

The Division of Minimally Invasive Bariatric and General Surgery conducts innovative, high impact observational and clinical trial research related to clinical outcomes in Minimally Invasive Bariatric and General Surgery.

 

 

 

Preferred and Required Qualifications

Ideal candidates should possess a Master’s degree and 5 years experience or a PhD in epidemiology, biostatistics, or a related field. Candidates should have a demonstrated record of success as evidenced by publications in peer reviewed journals. Applicants should have command of the English language and evidence of strong communication, good writing, and interpersonal skills.
