The Instructional Services Coordinator Senior position supports GateWay's Title V Grant Equitable Xperiences Infused Through Out (EXITO) GateWay: a holistic approach to foster student well-being and academic attainment. The position encompasses two distinct areas of responsibility: work based experience (WBE) development and coordination, and collaborating closely with faculty and agencies (nonprofits, companies, small businesses, and government entities) to create and monitor internships and WBEs. This position will also leverage independent analysis and judgment to develop, coordinate, and supervise complex and varied administrative tasks to launch GateWay's new internship and WBE programs, including both project and campus based experiences. The individual hired will develop and maintain the programs while tracking overall progress of the internship effort along with the Title V Program Director and Institutional Research office.

Essential Functions

  • 35% - Collaborates with faculty, staff, business/community representatives, partner organizations and other stakeholders to design and develop a GateWay Work Based Experience (WBE) program including designing, implementing, and overseeing a WBE student application process. Supports the development of college-level policies and procedures for internships and WBEs, including project and campus based experiences. Analyzes business and industry needs and evaluates curricula offering for WBE opportunities.
  • 30% - Provides training and guidance for the WBE program, working closely with faculty and external partners (nonprofits, companies, small businesses, and government entities) to develop procedures to monitor internships and WBEs.
  • 20% - Prepares or coordinates the production of reports, publications, correspondence, and information related to WBEs; tracks and monitors program milestones including data collection and assessment of learning outcomes; collaborates with key stakeholders to build awareness of internship opportunities.
  • 15% - Develops and maintains program records, documents, web content, and related communication materials for internships and WBEs. Other duties as assigned.

 

 

Preferred and Required Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, organizational development or directly related field and two (2) years of related experience such as providing advanced program coordination and consultation that includes one or more of the following: planning, development, and/or implementing program projects and activities in area of assignment.

OR

An Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and four (4) years of related experience such as providing advanced program coordination and consultation that includes one or more of the following: planning, development, and/or implementing program projects and activities in area of assignment.

OR

A High School Diploma/GED and six (6) years of related experience such as providing advanced program coordination and consultation that includes one or more of the following: planning, development, and/or implementing program projects and activities in area of assignment.

Related fields to include: Business, Social Sciences, Humanities, Fine/Performing Arts and English

Desired Qualifications

  1. One (1) or more years of experience working in higher education.
  2. One (1) or more years of experience communicating and working with relevant stakeholders (such as external agencies/employers, faculty, students)
  3. One (1) or more years of experience developing collaborative relationships with a variety of constituents
  4. One (1) or more years of experience with the development of student learning outcomes and assessments
  5. One (1) or more years of experience working with individuals with diverse abilities and/or cultural backgrounds
  6. Ability to communicate effectively, including usage of correct grammar and punctuation as demonstrated by a cover letter and resume
  7. One (1) or more years of experience working with Human Resources and/or Payroll processes
  8. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite


Special Working Conditions

  • Will be required to travel or be assigned to all MCCCD locations
  • May require some evenings or weekends
  • May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen
