The Library Specialist position is a full-time career service position. Provides specialized and technical assistance to staff and students at the Libraries throughout the district. Maintains the automated systems and network operations (state and local) of the library operations. Interprets, adapts, designs, and implements appropriate library and automation procedures and methods. Performs a variety of computer support functions to include set up, operation, and maintenance of computer equipment. Provides technical support, training, and assistance to staff in the use of computer applications and equipment. Coordinates the maintenance of statistical records and the publication of a variety of monthly, annual, and special reports and analyses as required. Reports to Department Head of Libraries.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate degree. Appropriate work experience on a year to year basis may be substituted for the College degree requirement. Successful results of a background check.
Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations. Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment, and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment.
SALARY RANGE: $24,155.55 (12.34/hour)
