Barry University Department of Sport and Exercise Sciences is seeking an Assistant or Associate Professor for Athletic Training beginning the Fall 2021 semester.
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the discipline and the departmental core; provide thesis mentoring, engage in Program, College, and University service, and engage in scholarly research. The candidate must also be responsive to the mission of Barry University (see Web site: http://www.barry.edu/about/mission/
Contract Terms: 9-month, fulltime, salary commensurate with degree and experience.
Reports to: Sport & Exercise Sciences -- Program Director
Effective start date for this position is August 15th, 2021.Essentials Functions
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in in the discipline and the Program core;
Provide thesis mentoring
Engage in Program, College, and University service.
Engage in scholarly research
The candidate must also be responsive to the mission of Barry University (see Web site: http://www.barry.edu/about/mission/
Support the Athletic Training Coordinator and Clinical Coordinator in administrative duties as needed
Participate in all aspects of the CAATE accredited Athletic Training Program
Function as a teaching and clinical faculty member(s) as well as collaborate with other college and local health care professionals
Adherence to the NATA Code of Ethics and other Standards of Professional Practices
Earned Doctorate in Athletic Training or related field
BOC Certification in good standing
Florida License in Athletic Training
Teaching experience in a CAATE accredited program is preferred
Experience as a Program Director is preferred
