Job Description:

The Department of Business & Economics invites applications for a Professor of Practice position in Accounting at the assistant professor level.  This is a full-time appointment to begin in August 2021 that may be renewed annually for a total of no more than five years initially. Wittenberg is committed to attracting and retaining highly qualified individuals who collectively reflect the diversity of our student body and society at-large.  Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to teaching, professional activities, and a willingness to be active in service to the department and university.


We seek an outstanding teacher and program builder to contribute to Wittenberg's established Accounting program.  The successful candidate will join a strong team of faculty committed to delivering a transformative undergraduate experience for our students.     

Evidence of solid teaching capability is required, with a strong preference for a candidate with a track record of outstanding teaching.  The successful candidate will have significant experience in management and public/private accounting, with a preference for public accounting (e.g., 1-3 years of experience) and interaction with the audit function, and a proven ability to bring that experience into the classroom. 

Other requirements include an enthusiastic commitment to working with student teams on diverse applied business projects and the ability to expand relationships between the department/university and the broader community.  Specifically, we are looking for an individual to build upon our already solid relationships with employers and graduate schools that result in internships and post-graduate opportunities for our students.

Applicants should have a Master of Accountancy or MBA; Professional certification (CPA, CMA, CFA, or other relevant certification).
