The Department of Communication at Bradley University seeks a dynamic candidate to teach in the Charley Steiner School of Sports Communication. This position will begin in August 2021.
We seek a dynamic and creative instructor to join a highly productive team of interdisciplinary colleagues to contribute to an innovative program in sports communication. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a global understanding of sports and be able to articulate ways to best prepare students for rapidly changing sports media industries.
Responsibilities include teaching lower and upper division undergraduate courses in sports communication, such as global perspectives in sports communication, ethical issues in sports communication, sports promotion and publicity, and other communication courses as qualified.
For appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in Residence, an appropriate terminal degree and college-level teaching experience are required at the time of hire.
For appointment at the rank of Instructor in Residence, an appropriate Master's degree or Bachelor's degree with substantial professional experience are required. College-level teaching experience is also preferred.
Salary is competitive with experience and qualifications. The starting date for this position is August 19, 2021. Appointment is for one year with the possibility of renewal.

The Charley Steiner School of Sports Communication, dedicated in 2015 to Bradley alumnus and Hall of Fame sports broadcaster Charley Steiner, is the first named school of sports communication in the nation. The Department of Communication, one of the departments in the Slane College of Communications and Fine Arts, is one of the largest departments in the university with nearly 400 students. The Department offers majors in Advertising and Public Relations, Journalism, Organizational Communication, Television Arts and Sports Communication.
