Introduction

University of the Sciences (USciences) is seeking a qualified candidate for a non-tenure track 12-month faculty position in the graduate Physician Assistant (PA) Program within Samson College of Health Sciences. Academic rank (assistant or associate professor) will be commensurate with experience. PA faculty report to the Program Director and are responsible for participating in teaching, service, and scholarship activities throughout the didactic and clinical phases of the program. Areas of need include candidates with teaching and clinical experience in women's health, pediatrics, and/or surgery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, teach, evaluate, and develop courses within the PA curriculum

  • Advise and oversee PA students during the didactic and clinical phases of the program

  • Participate in recruitment and selection of prospective PA students

  • Participate in regular faculty meetings, retreats, program and University committees, and professional organizations

  • Engage in scholarly activities, community service, and program related grant or research projects

  • Assist the Program Director in the coordination and production of information required for accreditation

  • Other duties as assigned by the Program Director

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Master's degree as a Physician Assistant or related licensed medical discipline

  • Have or be eligible for current licensure in Pennsylvania

  • Minimum of two years' experience as a licensed provider in a clinical setting

  • Teaching experience preferred

  • Strong interpersonal skills including good oral and written communication abilities

  • Familiarity with common office and academic software

  • The finalist will be required to successfully pass a background check.
