Job Summary

The Department of Criminal Justice at The University of North Georgia invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice at the Dahlonega campus.  The workload may require travel across campuses and teaching on distance learning platforms.  University of North Georgia is accepting applications for this position to support its growing Ph.D. degree program in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Intelligence and Research. This program is pending SACSCOC approval.



Responsibilities

  • Teaching schedule may include assignments in the classroom or on-line.
  • Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Teach four courses per semester.
  • Maintain an active research agenda in an effort to produce scholarly publications
  • Advise Ph.D. candidates enrolled in Ph.D. Program in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Intelligence and Research.
  • Serve on University, College, and Departmental Committees.


Required Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Criminal Justice or a closely related field is required.
  • Experience teaching quantitative measurement at the university or college level
  • Successful candidates should be able to teach one or more of the following courses, Quantitative Research Methods in Criminal Justice, Qualitative Research Methods is Criminal Justice, Advanced Statistical Analysis, and Contemporary Criminological Theory.
  • Experience with online learning platforms (such as Brightspace/D2L)
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all campus constituencies
