Job Description

Located 30 minutes north of Wichita, Kansas, Hesston College is a private, Christian liberal arts college that operates on a two-plus-two model. Historically a two-year college, most of Hesston's programs of study are two-year transfer and associate degree programs. Hesston also offers four-year bachelor's degree programs in nursing, aviation and business, and keeps an eye on industry trends and student needs to develop programs and offerings to best meet those needs. As a part of Mennonite Church USA, Hesston College is committed to fostering a Christ-centered community built on Anabaptist values.

Hesston College seeks a full-time Aviation Professor to provide substantive, engaging in-class and online instruction for students enrolled in both its Bachelor of Science and Associate of Applied Arts and Sciences Aviation degree programs. Candidates interested in this faculty position must possess a master's degree in aviation/aeronautics, or related field, with recent aviation industry experience. Qualified candidates must also possess an FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate - Airplane Single & Multiengine Land, an FAA Instrument Rating - Airplane and an FAA Certificated Flight Instructor certificate with Airplane Single & Multiengine and Instrument Airplane ratings. Ideal candidates will also possess demonstrated teaching competencies at the collegiate level, or equivalent.

Start date, length of annual work agreement (9-month or 12-month), and specific courses taught are negotiable based upon candidate experience and interests. Candidate must demonstrate a commitment to Christian higher education and the mission and values of Hesston College and the School of Aviation.
